  a friend of mine is moving to denton and was looking for a new church to attend. we visited this one together and I was disgusted by the information we were given. the lady we spoke to tried very hard to dance around the subject of lgbt+ rights and treatment in this church, but eventually caved and explained that "those people" would not be allowed as members. they are allowed to attend and, of course, allowed to donate money, but would never be accepted as full members of the church. both my friend and I are gay, and to have this said right to our faces was extremely upsetting. the fact that such a bigoted church is located so close to the UNT college campus is dumbfounding to me. it certainly makes me feel much more unsafe knowing that a building full of homophobic bigots is such a short walk away from where I attend classes.
  I realize this comes across as harsh, but any person attending this church is complacent in homophobic teachings. I'm posting this review because it's difficult to find information on this aspect of the village church, as they try to hide it to trick more people into attending. they know that the world is starting to realize that lgbt+ people are the same as anyone else, and are scared of losing attendance if more people know that this church views lgbt+ people as lesser humans. this information is very important when picking a new church, and should be more readily accessible.

  I've only been to this location and I had a great experience. The pastor is great and explained everything very well. I plan on going to the main church in Argyle next week and I believe I will be going there for awhile. Only time will tell.

  The village is a gospel centered Christian church. If you are offended by the Bible or comfortable living in sin, you probably won't like it here. But if you are seeking a relationship with your creator and his children – you will love this place!
